Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for 5 Research Fellow positions in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointments will be made on a 1 year contract basis with possibility for renewal. The group is committed to discovering and developing new radiopharmaceuticals for cancer theranostics (therapeutics and diagnostics) that are clinically translatable. The team puts special emphasis on radionuclide imaging and therapy of cancer (radiotheranostics), multi-modal molecular imaging and nanotheranostics (various forms of nanoformulas). Purpose of the post
The Research Fellow (RF) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to work on one of more of the following:
- Novel radiotracer development
- Novel Molecular Imaging Probe Development
- New cancer target for radiotheranostics
- Preclinical small animal imaging and cancer therapy
- Research grant application
- Supervise postgraduate student projects
- Support the teaching programme in the department and medicine school
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Research Fellow will be able to:
Contribute both intellectually and experimentally to methodology theoretically development as part of this multidisciplinary team;
Independently undertake advanced research in the relevant discipline area using, or developing, the appropriate methods and/or techniques;
Lead and promote activities designed to develop collaborative research with research colleagues and support staff internally and to actively develop appropriate external contacts and networks relevant future collaboration and funding opportunities;
Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or M.D. (preferably with 3-year experience in organic chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, immunology, material science, biomedical or computational imaging). A detailed knowledge of molecular imaging, or material science is mandatory. Experience in designing and performing scientific work independently and collaboratively is a must, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience in various cell-based assays (cell culture, ELISA, multi-color flow cytometry), animal handling, small animal imaging is highly preferred. Good communication skills in a work environment, motivation and drive to work hard, high ethics standard and level of integrity are most important.
