Job Description

A Research Fellow position is available in the research group of Professor Ho Ghim Wei at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Materials Science Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join an active research programme in the development of integrated solar water electrolyser for green hydrogen and water production from seawater.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Conduct independent and collaborative research on functional nanomaterials for electrocatalytic hydrogen production from seawater.
• Build and operate laboratory-scale reaction systems for catalytic performance evaluation.
• Perform experimental studies and computational modelling to understand material properties and electrocatalytic performance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including materials scientists, chemists, and electronic engineers.
• Publish high-quality journal papers and meet grant deliverables.
• Perform routine laboratory duties.
• Assist with other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by their immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
• Strong experimental research skills with a good publication record.
• Experience in advanced materials synthesis, characterisation, and electrolyser design and testing.
• Familiarity with computational modelling or data-driven analysis is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
• Open to fixed term contract.
