Job Description

The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading multi-disciplinary institute devoted to developing new paradigms for understanding biological functions in health and diseases from the perspective of cell, tissue and organ mechanics/dynamics and mechano-signal transduction. The institute operates on a fully integrated open-lab philosophy, with an extensive infrastructure supported by core facilities dedicated to technology such as state-of-the-art light microscopy, nano- and micro- fabrication, and computing.

Asst. Prof. Chan seeks a highly motivated individual to join his laboratory on Mammalian Development and Tissue Hydraulics as a postdoctoral fellow at the Mechanobiology Institute in the National University of Singapore. This position is offered under a highly interdisciplinary project that aims to understand lumen and vasculature morphogenesis in ovarian follicle development and ageing. Specifically, the selected candidate will study the biophysical and molecular mechanisms controlling fluid antrum and vasculature dynamics in preovulatory follicles of young and aged mice using ex vivo tissue culture combined with advanced imaging, biophysics and molecular approaches. The selected candidate will also work closely with theorists and collaborators, and have great opportunities to develop their interdisciplinary skills.Other opportunities for growth can also include support for mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, and contributing to grant proposals.
