Job Description
The Research Fellow (Postdoc) will conduct experimental and numerical studies in the field of coastal dynamics, including measurements and numerical modelling of turbulent processes in breaking waves, sediment transport, etc. The tasks involve particle image velocimetry (PIV) or particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) measurements of air-water interaction in a shallow water depth, turbulence in the presence of sediment concentrations, turbulence in wave-current interaction, etc. CFD model will be developed and validated with these experiments.
Qualifications
• Possess a PhD degree with research experience.
• Have with relevant background in coastal, ocean, and hydraulic engineering.
• Prior experience and knowledge of hydraulic laboratory experiments (e.g. with PIV/PTV) and numerical modelling (e.g. with DNS) of turbulent flow structures are preferred.
• Applicants must have a PhD degree and research experience.
• Strong written and spoken communications.
• Strong quantitative and analysis skills.
• Prior experience in publishing good publication record is advantageous.
• Open to fixed term contract
