The programme focuses on public health and clinical service innovation in an increasingly complex and connected world.

We are seeking a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to join our team at HSRPH. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of health economists to conduct research and evaluation for planned economic evaluations of health interventions. The role will involve contributing to the design, implementation, analysis and dissemination of health technology assessments and other health-services evaluations, including but not limited to:

  • Develop and refine independent research ideas, in alignment with the team’s health service research priorities and planned evaluations of health interventions.
  • Conduct systematic and targeted literature reviews to evaluate the potential value of health innovations.
  • Extract, clean, process and analyse data from existing institutional databases, study datasets and published literature.
  • Perform economic evaluations in healthcare (cost analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis or budget impact analysis).
  • Draft and contribute to research protocols, abstracts, manuscripts, evaluation reports and other scientific outputs.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations and other communication materials for clinical, management, policy and academic stakeholders.
  • Manage assigned research projects or major workstreams from initiation to completion, including development of research objectives and study designs; ethics and governance applications; data extraction, collation and analysis; stakeholder engagement; and preparation of study deliverables.
  • Provide appropriate project coordination, secretariat and administrative support for the health economics team, including meeting documentation, project tracking and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Possess a PhD in Health Economics, Health Services Research, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Relevant and in-depth postdoctoral or applied research experience, preferably in health economics, health technology assessment, healthcare evaluation, or health services research.
  • Strong quantitative research and data-management skills, including processing, analysing and interpreting large or complex datasets.
  • Experience in developing or applying health economic models, including Markov or other decision-analytic models.
  • Experience in conducting systematic reviews, literature reviews or evidence syntheses.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, Stata or other relevant statistical programming software; willingness to learn additional modelling and analytical applications.
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated publication record.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • A highly motivated and action-oriented individual who possess strong analytical thinking with a commitment to rigorous, high-quality research.
  • Prior experience in various quantitative research methods will be advantageous.
