The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers to do basic research on quantum physics and to build devices based on quantum phenomena. Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated Research Fellow to join our research on single-photon detection and its applications. The project involves the development and application of advanced single-photon detection

technologies for optical sensing, imaging, and related quantum and photonic systems.

 

This position will be hosted by Asst. Prof. Di ZHU’s group at the Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore (NUS). Successful candidates will be involved in, but not limited to, the following activities:

  • Develop and characterize single-photon detection systems and related components
  • Design and carry out experiments for optical sensing and imaging
  • Manage project milestones and deliverables
  • Assist in mentoring graduate students
  • Regularly disseminate research results through reports, presentations, and manuscripts

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree (completed or soon to be completed) in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant areas
  • Relevant research experience in single-photon detection, optical sensing, imaging, or related fields
  • Hands-on experimental, instrumentation, and signal-processing skills
  • Programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab)
  • Ability to work as a team and communicate effectively
