Energy Studies Institute

The Energy Studies Institute (ESI) is a research institute in the National University of Singapore seeking to advance the understanding of energy policy issues by conducting independent research and analysis.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the ESI administration team, which oversees the institute's administrative and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams carrying out various administrative functions to support a diverse range of energy research projects.

Job Description

  • Support the Project principle investigators and co-investigators in the overall administration and management of research programmes.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational and administrative aspects of research projects within the programme.
  • Coordinate across research teams to ensure alignment of project timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
  • Track progress of research projects and support the preparation of reports, presentations, and programme updates.
  • Facilitate communication between internal researchers, external collaborators, industry partners, and government agencies.
  • Assist in the development and submission of research proposals, including coordination of inputs and administrative documentation.
  • Support budgeting, resource planning, and utilisation tracking for research programmes.
  • Organise stakeholder engagement sessions, workshops, seminars, and conferences related to programme activities.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, funding agency, and governance requirements.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as programme development, partnership building, and funding opportunities.

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience in research administration, programme management, or similar roles.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with academia, industry, and government agencies.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Highly driven, meticulous, and able to work under tight timelines.
  • Prior experience in grant management, proposal development, or research programme coordination will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of research environments; prior experience in energy, sustainability, or climate-related fields would be beneficial but not required.
