Job Description
The incumbent will play a key role in working closely with the School’s stakeholders involved in undergraduate medical education, particularly senior leadership and key administrative partners of healthcare institutions, to ensure that funding for training medical students are accurately disbursed, payment disputes are resolved satisfactorily, and compile data for reporting purposes. The incumbent will also be responsible for the Division budget management, development of SOPs and guidelines, as well as participate in quality improvement projects.
1. Compute PECT funding for Clinical Postings/Teaching Activities and Clinical Exam Contributions for all Healthcare Institutions that are teaching our students.
-Prepare student day database with data from NUSMed Edu Curriculum Team,
- Collate lesson timetables from NUSMed departments on a posting rotation basis,
- Quarterly collation of info on local and overseas electives postings from Electives Team;
- Annual collation of tutors’ contribution to NUS clinical teaching activities (CTA) and clinical exams from various program/exam coordinators
2. Management of and Reporting on PECT Funding with an annual budget of $65m.
- Disbursement of PECT funding, annual accruals;
- Compute and project PECT funding for current year and planning years;
- Coordinate, process and track PECT payments
3. Manage PECT Funding and Providing guidance and communications on PECT matters
- Projection of PECT budget ;
- Plan PECT budget utilization; and collaboration with Dean's Office Finance and the Curriculum teams for efficient PECT funds management in tandem with Edu division strategy and workplan.
- Review Family Med’s budget proposals
- Establish clear communication channels and close working relationship with the various stakeholders e.g. HCIs, MOH, NUSMed departments and other divisions of Dean’s Office for improved efficiency and coordination.
4. Manage Education Division Budget.
5. Quality improvement project
Participate in the business process re-engineering project to establish an Education appointment and PECT payment app and dashboard. The app and dashboard is an ongoing joint project within the Dean’s Office Education Division in collaboration with other divisions of the Dean’s Office and partners from HCI Education Offices.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/Administration, Accountancy or related fields
• Candidates should ideally have at least 5 years of work experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Highly self-motivated individual who is able to work independently as well as in a team
• Analytical, meticulous and adaptable in a fast-moving high-pressure environment
• Possess good organization and communication skills to handle stakeholders of various levels
• Tact and discretion in handling sensitive information
• Work experience in the healthcare industry, institutes of higher learning or public service would be advantageous
