Job Description

The Programme Business Partner for the TRP Central Admin is a strategic collaborator and trusted advisor, responsible for aligning business operations with the programme’s scientific and translational goals. This role serves as the key interface between the research leadership, administrative teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration of financial, operational, and strategic planning.

 

1) To serve as Programme Business Partner 

  • Provide direction and operational oversight to support the Programme Chair in driving the Translational Research Programme towards the successful achievement of objectives, deliverables, and KPIs.
  • Lead the financial planning and management of the core budget, ensuring resource allocation is aligned with research priorities and long-term strategic goals which includes overseeing the administration and monitoring of TRP seed grant awards, ensuring scientific objectives are met and timely delivery of milestones.

 

2) To manage the finance and procurement team in TRP Central Admin 

  • To manage the procurement of the TRP core budget and PIs’ grants including purchase of consumables, equipment, etc.
  • To support the financial aspects of research agreements such as grant quarterly claims, requisition, invoicing, etc.
  • To process the honorarium for academic visitors & student internships.

 

3) To support the events & publicity team in TRP Central Admin 

  • To assist in the planning of seminars, workshops and conferences initiated by the TRP Chairs.
  • To execute the schedules for faculty candidates, academic visitors, Visiting Professors and invited guests.
  • To manage the social media platforms for the TRP Central Admin.

 

4) To assist the TRP Central Admin in any other ad-hoc assignments

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • At least 8 years working experience in research administration in tertiary institutions, particularly in budget and grant management.
  • Highly organized individual and adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
  • Exhibits initiative, proven effective leadership & team management and ability to work under pressure/deadlines.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and  the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving with growth mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint applications.
  • Proven track record with business improvement strategies and implementation
