Job Description

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is dedicated to fostering the holistic development of students as global citizens and leaders of change for tomorrow. This role oversees one of the OSA's Divisions that supports students' wellbeing and accessibility needs. Specifically, the Division aims to provide a) better continuity of care for students with mental health concerns through capacity building and partnerships with key University stakeholders; and b) an equitable and accessible university learning environment that supports a comprehensive range of accessibility needs.

 

Duties & Responsibilitie

 

1. Lead the Division in the effective management of the two functions described below. Apart from this, to focus on people development with the aim of building organisational capabilities and a motivated team and also to foster a culture of collaboration and operational efficiency.

   

Student Wellness

a. Holistic Wellness Approach : Collaborate with relevant NUS units to utilise a holistic approach aimed at increasing self-care and mental health awareness outreach within the student community.

b. Student Support : Case management for students who need mental wellness support and respondent support for students undergoing disciplinary action related to student conduct matters.

C. Capacity Building : Equip all involved in the support network (e.g. student leaders, Peer Student Supporters, and Student Support Managers) with relevant training to support students through capacity-building workshops

 

Student Accessibilit

a. Case Management and Advisory : Provide case management and advisory services to students with special needs.

b. Capacity Building : Build the capacity of students with disabilities and the NUS community by organising training and workshops in identified key areas.

c. Accessibility Outreach : Conduct outreach activities on accessibility to foster awareness of diverse aspects of disabilities and accessibility to foster awareness of diverse aspects of disabilities and accessibility support available to students with special needs in the NUS community

d. Partnership Cultivation : Cultivate meaningful partnership and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders on projects designed to increase campus accessibility and enhance mindshare on accessibility.

 

2. Being a member of the OSA leadership team, provide strategic inputs to matters that affect OSA as a whole and facilitate the reasonance of activities across OSA.

 

3. Perform other duties as assigned, for example, provide leadership or represent OSA in committees.

Qualifications

  • Holds at least a general degree.
  • Possesses at least 10 years if senior leadership experience, preferably in similar positions in institutes of higher learning environment.
  • Demostrates a strategic mindset with excellent leadership, planning and organisational abilities.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to lead, motivate and foster collaborations in team including with partners (internal as well as external) to deliver the desired results.
