As a valued member of the Office for Students, you will find yourself at the epicentre of student life, playing a crucial role in supporting essential administrative functions while contributing positively to the personal development journeys of NUS students. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain extensive experience across various facets of student affairs, including committee management and the orchestration of large-scale events, all within a vibrant and dynamic academic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary secretariat for the PSCC and FTC committees, ensuring effective coordination of meetings and comprehensive documentation.
- Facilitate and oversee disciplinary investigations, safeguarding a fair and transparent process throughout.
- Manage the drafting, distribution, and follow-up of outcome reports to all involved stakeholders.
- Assist the OfS Admin Lead with varied administrative and committee-related responsibilities as required.
- Provide cross-support for Student Support Managers when necessary, addressing students' disciplinary or wellbeing concerns.
- Assist in tracking and reporting the progress of the OfS annual strategic plan and key initiatives effectively.
- Support the preparation and publication of the OfS annual report.
- Engage actively in the planning, piloting, and implementation of new projects and initiatives, fostering innovation and advancement.
- Allocate a significant proportion of time on assisting the Admissions team lead in managing & organizing this key event.
- Provide administrative assistance for various ad hoc events, adapting to the needs of the moment.
Qualifications
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of articulating thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in both written and verbal communications.
- Adept at managing sensitive matters and maintaining confidentiality with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, equipped with a meticulous attention to detail that ensures smooth operations.
- Resourceful and proactive in recognising challenges and developing constructive solutions.
- A collaborative spirit that enriches team efforts and contributes positively to the team dynamic.
- A willingness to embrace new learning opportunities and tackle fresh challenges with enthusiasm.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), with an ability to adapt to new technological tools as required.
- Prior experience in event planning or project management would be advantageous but is not strictly necessary.
- Willingness to occasionally work on weekends during key events to support team and student needs.
