Job Description

NUS Medicine's Dean's Research Office is expanding its international research engagement across East Asia, and we're looking for an organised, motivated individual to join our Research Partnerships and Intelligence team. This is a junior, support-focused role, ideal for someone early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to international research partnerships, cross-border coordination, and stakeholder engagement at one of Asia's leading medical schools.

Working closely under the guidance of senior colleagues, you'll provide valuable operational and coordination capacity as the School deepens its research collaborations in the priority region. You'll also play a part in keeping NUS Medicine's efforts well aligned with University-wide priorities and flagship cross-border initiatives. It's a great opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow within a dynamic, outward-facing team.

Please note: this role involves regular regional and international travel.

What You'll Do

  • Data acquisition & research support – Gather, organise and compile data and background research on partner institutions, funding landscapes and research ecosystems in the region; maintain trackers and help prepare draft briefings and reports to support senior colleagues' decisions.
  • Project coordination & operational support – Provide broad administrative and operational support, including documentation, record-keeping, scheduling, meeting arrangements and process coordination, to keep day-to-day activities running smoothly.
  • Delegations, visits & hospitality – Assist with planning and running incoming and outgoing delegations, site visits and events, from itineraries and logistics to protocol and hospitality arrangements, helping ensure a positive experience for guests and partners.
  • Stakeholder communications & coordination – Support correspondence, follow-ups and scheduling with internal stakeholders and external partners (institutions, hospitals, government and industry), often in Mandarin and across different cultural contexts.
  • Support for initiative execution – Help execute agreed initiatives and workplans, follow up on assigned tasks and track progress against milestones.
  • Regional travel & on-ground engagement – Undertake regular regional and international travel to support engagements and enable on-the-ground follow-through.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • A good Bachelor's degree. A background in life sciences, biomedical sciences, public health or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
  • This is an entry-level role suitable for candidates with up to around 2–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Exposure to partnerships, business development, account management, research administration or international engagement would be an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required, as you'll regularly communicate with partners in the priority region across differing institutional cultures and protocols.
  • Comfortable with data acquisition, handling and analysis (e.g. Excel, SQL, dashboards/analytics), preparing briefings and reports, and coordinating events and cross-border projects.
  • Eager to learn, organised, detail-oriented, culturally adaptable, a reliable team player, and willing to travel.

Why Join Us
You'll be part of a collaborative team at the heart of NUS Medicine's international research ambitions, with mentorship from experienced colleagues, meaningful exposure to high-level partnerships, and room to develop your skills in a supportive environment.
