The Department of Social Work, NUS invites applications for the position of Senior Executive / Assistant Manager to manage the Graduate Diploma programme.
The Department of Social Work offers graduate programmes for social workers or mid-career professionals who are looking to embark on a career in social work. In particular, the NUS Graduate Diploma in Social Work (GDSW) is tailored for individuals who are building a career in social services without a prior social work degree.
The successful candidate will work on the Department’s Graduate Diploma programmes, primarily administering the GDSW programme for a start while supporting the future expansion of our Graduate Diploma offerings. The candidate will work closely with faculty members to market the programme and grow student enrolment, in addition to managing the programme operations and assisting with student enquiries.
Duties & Responsibilitie
Programme Administration / Operations
• Manage yearly admissions and enrolment processes, including orientation briefings.
• Administer exams, course registration, timetabling scheduling and field placements (student internships).
• Assist with student enquiries and provide them with the necessary support on curricular matters e.g. applications for Leave of Absence, Conversion of Candidature, Extension and Withdrawal of Candidature.
• Work with internal departments and grantors on funding matters, when required
• Assist part-time teaching staff in teaching-related matters e.g. setting up NUS account, library membership, uploading of course information.
Business Development
• Support the Head of Graduate Programme to grow student enrolment for the GDSW and expand the Graduate Diploma programme, including identifying opportunities for promotion, outreach and industry engagement.
• Provide marketing, administrative and logistics support for engagement activities e.g. information sessions, seminars.
General Office Duties
• Co-ordinate/Manage general office administrative duties e.g. stationery supplies, office equipment, as assigned by Reporting Manager.
Any other duties as assigned by the Reporting Manager, as and when required
Qualifications
• Recognised degree in any discipline.
• 3-5 years of working experience. Prior administrative and/or business development experience in an Institute of Higher Learning or the education sector will be highly advantageous.
• IT-savvy as interaction with various IT systems is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
• Customer service-oriented with strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong team player, but also able to work independently with the necessary guidance.
• Ability to adapt to change with a positive attitude towards approaching work challenges.
