Job Description

Operations Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities across guest rooms, public areas, the meeting room, guest lounge, and lobby.
  • Ensure shift coverage and smooth handovers to maintain consistent service levels.
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Oversee inventory of cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and linens using RFID Linen Robot and RFID Counting Box systems.
  • Ensure proper use and upkeep of housekeeping equipment, including EZ Maid bed lifters and other operational tools.

Staff Management

  • Supervise outsourced housekeeping staff, ensuring adherence to hotel standards and productivity goals.
  • Support shift scheduling, duty allocation, and performance monitoring of housekeeping personnel.
  • Conduct on-the-job and refresher training for new and existing staff covering cleaning standards, safety, and guest interaction.
  • Foster teamwork and service excellence through effective communication and motivation.

Vendor Liaison & Inventory Control

  • Liaise with external vendors and service partners to ensure timely supply of linen, cleaning materials, and amenities.
  • Monitor and verify stock usage via RFID systems and ensure timely replenishment to prevent shortages.
  • Assist in evaluating vendor performance and recommend improvements or alternatives where needed.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and linens, and conduct monthly audits to ensure accuracy and cost control.
  • Raise supply orders as needed and maintain productive relationships with suppliers.

Quality Assurance & Guest Satisfaction

  • Conduct inspections and audits to uphold 4–5-star standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints courteously and promptly, coordinating solutions with the Front Office as required.
  • Ensure special requests — including VIP, long-stay, and event-related — are properly coordinated and executed.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety, hygiene, and environmental sustainability standards.
  • Conduct and document safety briefings, chemical handling training, and proper use of cleaning machinery.
  • Report incidents, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly to the Housekeeping Manager or Engineering team.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering and Front Office teams to address repair and maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support Executive Centre events, special projects, and emergencies.

Technology & Reporting

  • Utilise the StarRez Mobile App and related systems for room status updates, maintenance logging, and performance tracking.
  • Support data collection and reporting on productivity, room readiness, and inventory control.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • 2–4 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping operations, preferably in a 4–5-star hotel or serviced residence.
  • Experience managing outsourced teams and working with digital housekeeping systems and technology.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with vendors, staff, and guests.
  • Proficient in housekeeping systems and technology, including RFID tracking and mobile housekeeping applications.
  • Able to multitask and adapt to shift work and fast-paced operational demands.
