Job Description

The Public Communications & Education team supports SNRSI's mission to be a credible, objective pillar for public engagement and education on nuclear safety and technical issues. As part of our dynamic team, you will have many opportunities to contribute to integrated marketing communications and digital engagement initiatives that build public awareness, trust, and understanding of nuclear safety and energy research.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute integrated marcomms campaigns across digital and traditional channels to support SNRSI's public engagement objectives
  • Manage SNRSI's digital presence, including social media channels, website content, and digital publications, ensuring content is current, accurate, and engaging
  • Develop creative content and messaging — including copy, graphics briefs, and multimedia assets — tailored to different audiences and platforms
  • Develop content for interactive exhibitions and public-facing installations, translating complex nuclear and scientific concepts into accessible, engaging visitor experiences
  • Support the development of educational curriculum and programme materials for school outreach and public education initiatives
  • Monitor and analyse digital performance metrics and public sentiment to generate insights that inform communications strategies
  • Support the planning and execution of public engagement events, media engagements, and community outreach activities
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors (creative agencies, media buyers, exhibition designers) to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Ensure all communications align with national energy policy, regulatory requirements, and SNRSI's brand guidelines
  • Participate in cross-team communications and engagement projects

The level of the position will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing and copywriting skills across formats — long-form, social, digital, and educational content
  • Hands-on experience with social media management and digital marketing tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Hootsuite)
  • Creative eye with ability to develop compelling content for different platforms, audiences, and exhibition contexts
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret digital data and translate into actionable recommendations
  • High level of initiative, with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
  • Able to navigate procurement and vendor management processes for effective communication outcomes
  • Experience working with creative agencies, exhibition designers, or vendors will be an advantage
  • Background or training in science communication, science education, or a related STEM field is preferred
  • Familiarity with nuclear energy issues or safety frameworks will be an advantage
