Duke-NUS Development Department is looking for a Development professional who thrives on nurturing meaningful connections and sharing stories of impact of our students and researchers. The key responsibility is to work closely with Donor Relations to build strong bonds and networks with existing and prospective donors, with a view of creating a continual pipeline of gifts for the School in areas of education and research. 
 

The professional will support Development Department for a variety of business functions including but not limited to the following: - 

  • Manage a portfolio of donors for stewardship. This entails working closely with fundraisers to prepare and implement tailored stewardship plans to deliver meaningful donor experiences
  • Oversight of donors’ appreciation process with preparation of stewardship and gift reports, and donor recognition 
  • Establish and conduct review of donors and support efforts to forge deeper relationships to build visibility, impact and support for School’s initiatives
  • Craft compelling gift / impact stories and editorial for publicity platforms, including liaising with and interviewing donors and recipients to facilitate gift stories
  • Support fundraising through select special projects/initiatives and solicit gifts from donors as appropriate
  • Plan and organise events to steward donors (such as donor appreciation events, events to fundraise) 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of Development and Research or Education objectives regarding gifts and stewardship of gifts 
  • Work with Communications & Strategic Relations Department to utilise various communication channels, including social media to maximise donor recognition and gift impact
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Development. 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related Bio-Science fields 
  • Fundraising or Donor Engagement experience in a non-profit or education institute is preferred
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in philanthropy, business development, public relations or  communications
  • Entry-level candidates may also be considered.
  • Possess excellent communications, interpersonal and organisational skills with an eye for details 
  • Have strong research skills to thoroughly assess and match donor interests with School’s initiatives
  • Strong administrative and logistical skills
  • A reliable and conscientious team player
  • High energy individual with a willingness to learn.
  • Well versed in software applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe programmes
