Job Description

This position reports to the Head of Student Leadership and Development (SLD) in the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and interfaces with staff of the section. SLD looks after the governance of student organisations as well as the development of student leaders.

 

This role will mainly support the administration and coordination of Teach Singapore. Teach Singapore will operate as a resource hub and enabler for community-based tutoring and mentoring, with a goal of mobilizing NUS student volunteers and impacting children and youths from low-income families. The staff will also be expected to support SLD's mission as a section.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Take an active role in the planning and execution of the Teach Singapore project.
  • Forecast and manage budget needed for the Teach Singapore project.
  • Manage the operation and administration of Teach Singapore.
  • Volunteers' recruitment, deployment, training, advisory, etc.
  • Grant management and disbursement, for example, track timing of payment, prepare data and documents for approval and payment, report expenses, communication with project teams, etc.
  • Project and Project teams progress tracking through regular check-in.
  • Support publicity and outreach efforts to Teach SG internal and external stakeholders i.e. volunteers, community partners and other relevant partners.
  • Data collection and analysis for outcome measurement reporting.
  • Coordinate all other Teach Singapore matters including partnership, events organisation, etc.
  • Collaborate and advise student organisations for compliance and event planning.
  • Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degre
  • A proven track record of at least 2 years in the student/youth development/community engagement work are welcome to apply.
  • A good team player and able to work independently.
  • Possess good people and event mangement skills, as well as effective writing acumen.
  • Proficient in networking with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and design software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator would be an added advantage)
  • Strong administrative and communication skills.
