Job Description
The Faculty of Science is seeking a qualified candidate for digital / social media marketing. The ideal candidate will have a knack for storytelling, a keen eye for curating impactful designs and the ability to craft and produce compelling content for our social media platforms. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following -
Key Responsibilities
- Social media management: Manage the Faculty’s social media platforms, ensuring consistent posting and engagement
- Planning and strategy: Develop the Faculty’s digital marketing strategies and provide clear implementation roadmaps that align with the Faculty’s goals and platform best practices (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). This includes recommending and implementing new initiatives to improve engagement
- Calendar planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media content calendar aligned with profiling goals
- Content creation and editing: Plan and produce original, high-quality content, including shooting and editing photos, videos / reels and crafting engaging posts
- Performance tracking and analysis: Use analytics and social listening tools to provide insights into performance and data-driven recommendations for improvement
Additional Responsibilities
The candidate will support the team on the following:
- Longer-form content writing (e.g., publications, blogs, etc). This includes conducting research to identify trending topics; gathering information for content pieces; engaging stakeholders and content owners; and writing
- Website matters, including updating creating and updating website content and periodic website enhancements
- Events logistics for key events such as Open Houses and Faculty-level events
- Other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info
- Relevant diploma- or degree-level qualifications
- At least 4 years digital marketing, social media and content creation experience, demonstrated by a strong portfolio
- Keen awareness of emerging media trends and tools
- Photography skills, including shooting and editing photos to create high-quality visual content
- Good English writing skills
- Competencies in editing software (Adobe suite preferred)
- Highly organised, timeline-driven with a meticulous eye for detail and able to manage multiple priorities
- Experience in technical administrative functions in the maintenance and management of website Content Management System (CMS) technologies will be a strong competitive advantage
Candidates are required to submit a portfolio of work.
- Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.
- The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits
- The incumbent will be placed on a fixed term contract of two years (renewable).
