Job Purpose

The NUS Computing Horizons Office is a new strategic initiative that positions NUS as a thought leader in AI and computing. We scan global research and technology trends using advanced AI tools, translate insights into actionable strategies, and foster international research collaborations. The successful candidate will be the operational backbone of this office and will ensure smooth day-to-day functioning. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Implement the office’s roadmap in consultation with faculty leadership
  • Assist in Identifying and interpreting global AI/computing trends, distilling them into actionable initiatives
  • Maintain high quality documentation, communications, and stakeholder engagement. Draft, review, and edit documents, correspondence, and reports in both English and Mandarin
  • Prepare policy briefs and executive-level presentations for university and external stakeholders
  • Execute flagship programs such as tech scanning, visiting scholar initiatives, and international/local events. This includes managing travel logistics, including international trips and overseas stays
  • Track budgets, process procurement, and liaise with relevant service providers
  • Work with Communications, Industry, and Research Offices to align initiatives with broader strategies
  • Support onboarding of staff and visitors.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3–5 years of experience in administration, project management, computer science, or research operations
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work professionally with senior faculty and external partners
  • Proficiency with office productivity and project management tools
  • Plus: Experience supporting research centres, academic programs or large grants
  • Plus: Experience or a background in computer science.
  • Plus: Proven track record in event management and travel coordination.
