Job Description
As a key member of the HR Partnering team in NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, the HR Business Partner and Compensation & Benefits Specialist Lead will play a pivotal role in aligning human capital strategies with School objectives. The Lead will also provide expert HR advisory services, collaborate closely with academic and functional leaders, and drive people initiatives to foster a high-performance and engaging work environment that support the School's mission and strategic objectives in being the best medical school in Asia for the World.
As a key member of the HR Partnering team, the jobholder will:
- Anchor the Compensation & Benefits portfolio to ensure manpower planning and performance management are integrated, supporting key workforce planning strategies and promoting a pay-for-performance culture.
- Collaborate with academic leaders, function heads, and line managers to deliver comprehensive and expert HR advisory services, ensuring alignment with the School’s goals and values.
- Co-design and implement innovative people solutions with clients, spearheading HR strategies that support the achievement of School-wide outcomes.
- Serve as a strategic catalyst between business and HR, managing a broad spectrum of HR duties, including performance management, talent acquisition, talent review, change management, succession planning, employee engagement, and organisation development.
- Address complex employee relations matters, providing guidance on disciplinary issues and conflict resolution to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Initiate and lead process improvement projects to enhance HR operational efficiency and service delivery, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives, contributing to continuous improvement and the achievement of strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- 15 or more years of experience in HR business partnering or equivalent role, ideally in higher education or research sector
- Degree in any discipline. Additional HR qualifications or certifications are advantageous
- Demonstrable business and HR acumen, and ability to drive HR solutions
- Demonstrable consulting skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Strong influencing and collaborating skills, with demonstrable ability to work across various HR teams and with staff at all levels
- Resourceful and self-driven with a high degree of professional integrity
- Meticulous and demonstrable experience with HR metrics
- Good knowledge of labour legislations and HR best practices
- Knowledge in SAP SuccessFactors is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office
