Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the School of Computing’s (SoC) strategic engagement initiatives with schools, including relationship-building with local and international institutions
- Plan and execute high-impact events such as NUS Open House, Info Sessions, Computing Day, school visits, outreach workshops, and youth engagement programmes.
- Develop and manage partnerships with secondary schools, junior colleges, polytechnics, and other education stakeholders to increase the SoC’s outreach and influence.
- Provide leadership in the design and execution of hands-on learning engagements that showcase the SoC’s offerings to prospective students.
- Collaborate with faculty members, student volunteers, and external vendors to ensure successful event execution.
- Design and implement evaluation metrics to measure the effectiveness and reach of engagement initiatives.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, logistics, and communications across teams and partners.
- Oversee development and production of engagement materials, kits, publicity items, and digital content.
- Serve as the SoC’s representative at key engagements, education fairs, and community events.
- Support the Communications team in broader strategic planning, campaign development, and cross-functional outreach efforts.
- Handle other ad hoc projects as assigned by the Senior Associate Director, Communications.
Qualifications
- A recognised degree in Communications, Events Management, Education, or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in stakeholder engagement, outreach, or event leadership, preferably in education or public sector
- Proven track record in managing large-scale events and educational programmes
- Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines
- Willingness to work evenings or weekends during key events and outreach periods
- Experience working with schools, educators, and students is highly desirable
- Experience in photography or video production is a plus
- Proficient in tools such as Microsoft Office, Canva, Google Docs, is a plus.
