The School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) was established to drive the expansion of NUS’ lifelong learning offerings in a concerted and strategic way that furthers our mission to be a leading global university, as well as fulfil our role as a public university of Singapore, shaping the future.

Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/education programmes, part-time and full-time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs of individuals. All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency.

About the Role

To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our SCALE-Global Business Unit.

If you are creative, enjoy developing digital or virtual artifacts and have a keen eye for details, we want you to join our team as an Interactive Multimedia Designer. Reporting to the Head of the Adult Learning Experience Team, you will create illustrations, animations, videos, and interactive content for eLearning. The successful candidate will combine text, audio, animation, photography, and video to create informational and impactful content.

This role is offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Collaborate with Instructional Designers to conceptualise, design, and create functional and compelling online learning artifacts using graphics, audio, animations, and videos that infuse interactive or gamification elements;
•    Conduct research to design and create original characters, avatars, infographics, and appropriate background scenes to convey concepts for online learning;
•    Assemble media elements and design interactive learning objects using online learning authoring tools like Articulate;
•    Assist in other ad hoc projects, assigned by supervisor/HOD.

Qualifications

Academic & Professional Certification
•    A good bachelor’s degree with multimedia design, visual communication and interactive storytelling skills from a reputable university; fresh university graduates or those with polytechnic diplomas in multimedia or graphics design may apply;
•    Strong English language proficiency and visual communication skills are essential;
•    A keen eye for design aesthetics and proficient in design softwares of the Adobe Creative Suite such as After Effects, Illustrator and Premiere Pro;
 •    IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications.

Experience & Attributes
•    Energetic, self-motivated, and creative individual who thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented and ambiguous work environment;
•    Competent in graphics design and layout;
•    Competent in 2D animation;
•    Competent in digital video and audio editing;
•    Possess strong time management and organisational skills;
•    Strong team player, able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes;
•    Resilient, resourceful, possesses good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills;
•    Experienced in creating multimedia content;
•    Basic programming skills (e.g., JavaScript) for developing xAPI or cmi5 packages is advantageous;
•    AR & VR development and/or UX/UI design experience will be an added advantage.
