Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Visiting Professors in Implementation and Behavioural Sciences , hosted within the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. As a research centre, BISI aims to improve population health and well-being and healthcare delivery by accelerating evidence-based practice through the use of behavioural and implementation sciences.

The Visiting Professors will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Centre’s Academic Director, Professor Nick Sevdalis, and the faculty as well as researchers and other staff involved in Centre research and educational activities. The Visiting Professors mission will be to extend the range and depth of expertise in the domains of behavioural and implementation sciences applied to health. They will be expected to contribute to the design and dissemination of research studies, delivery of educational sessions and training offered by the BISI team, and mentoring of BISI researchers and students. Theory development, methodological innovation and cultural aspects of implementation processes and behavioural change are core areas of interest for BISI.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Lead, peer-review and supervise innovative research aligned with BISI’s objectives, as per the stated priorities above
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, scientists, and other stakeholders to advance novel, high quality and impactful research initiatives
  • Mentor and supervise the work of undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers
  • Design and deliver teaching and training session, including lectures, workshops and panels, for BISI’s flagship MSc Behavioural and Implementation Sciences in Health programme, CET courses, webinar series, and other education initiatives
  • Produce high-quality, peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals and present research findings at national and international conferences
  • Actively engage in BISI’s events, workshops, and outreach events.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • PhD, or equivalent degree in behavioural or implementation sciences, broadly defined, or a related field.
  • Established history of research excellence, highlighted by first-author publications in high-impact journals.
  • Demonstrable thought leadership in behavioural/implementation science theory or methodologies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Educational leadership, including curriculum design and delivery, in behavioural or implementation sciences
  • Exceptional communication, mentoring and leadership abilities.

 

Desirable:

  • Expertise in teaching and curriculum design at executive level.
  • Experience mentoring and supervising junior faculty.
  • Interest and expertise in cross-cultural research.
  • Experience in obtaining competitive external funding to support cross-national research initiatives.
