Job Description

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is an autonomous research institute within the National University of Singapore. IPS is seeking to hire a Senior Executive/Assistant Manager (Data Quality Management) for its Social Lab. The appointed individual will assist the Assistant Senior Manager in managing and supporting the Data/QC team’s daily operations to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data. This role will be responsible for quality control, data administration, and supporting audit checks on survey fieldwork. It offers opportunities to develop essential quality control operations skills and gain exposure to advanced data processing and analysis.

Responsibilities: 

• Manage QC data of assigned projects, including coordinating freelancers to perform telephone validations, audio audits, onsite checks, and observations;
• Supervise and oversee the Data and QC Team to ensure timely delivery of quality data;
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with project specifications.
• Review, clean and rectify data discrepancies across multiple datasets;
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for survey links and questionnaires;
• Ensure data consistency and accuracy across variables and datasets;
• Perform data coding, cleaning, and processing in line with SSOC and SSIC or other provided code frames and data dictionaries;
• Manage longitudinal panel data, including merging and stacking panel data across different waves using syntax;
• Conduct operational data analysis and reporting using SPSS/Excel;
• Prepare qualifty reports and visual summaries to support decision-making
• Train interviewers and provide timely feedback to the Field team;
• Evaluate data quality and report findings;
• Liaise with vendors and clients on project-related matters.
• Assist in vetting translations of survey questionnaires when required;
• Perform any other quality control or data-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma with relevant work experience;
• Experience in SSOC and SSIC coding;
• Strong interest in data analysis and data management;
• Proficient in data management and technical tools, including SPSS, Python, R, and HTML;
• Experience using Case Management System, SPSS DimensionNet, and Qualtrics; 
• Good knowledge of SPSS syntax for data validation, quality checks, and data processing;
• Fluent in at least two languages, both written and spoken;
• Meticulous, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure;
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
